I co-founded All Out and have served as its first executive director since January 2012.
Since our launch in 2011, AllOut has grown into one of the largest organizations in the field with more than 1,8350,000 members in every country
All Out was created to give people everywhere the ability to help win equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in every country in the world.
For decades, incredible people and organizations have been working internationally at the highest levels of government and politics to advance the rights and recognition of LGBT people. Many national and regional grassroots organizations have also worked hard, often without many resources, to advocate for LGBT people in their parts of the world. But until now, there hasn't been an easy way for regular people to support and amplify the work of these incredible organizations.
All Out is not a traditional international NGO. Our goal is to build a global membership that directly contributes power and resources to local organizations around the world. The online organizing model for grassroots engagement and empowerment is at the core of All Out's daily operations. This practice, proven through organizations around the world like MoveOn, GetUp!, Avaaz, and SumOfUs, has succeeded in harnessing the power of technology to activate and amplify local, national, and global constituencies around issues of common concern. All Out takes the best of this model and adds a deep commitment to LGBT rights and a special focus on providing accessible ways for millions of supporters to activate their social networks around issues of love and equality.
All Out works closely with local and international organizations to highlight their crucial works, provide a global platform to help make their voices heard, and run creative campaigns that allow people around the world to support their activities and help win victories for LGBT people.
